Numbers and their Story

Numbers are all around. It is hard to avoid numbers in our day to day life. I believe numbers do tell stories if you look at them and listen to them. All you have t is carefully listen to them.

It may be our personal life or corporate world, numbers are equally important. We use numbers to keep tracking our income and expenses, we use numbers to measure our health, our education any many more aspects. We may not have formal processes, methods or tools for handle numbers in our personal life. But knowingly or unknowingly we use numbers. If you look at them it will tell the story of who you are !

Similarly, now a days businesses have realized the importance of numbers. It may be numbers of their own, their competitors, numbers from general public or even the numbers from individual personal life. Corporations can and will use these numbers to identify the market, develop market and ultimately to make a profit. So it is no argument numbers are important.

Working with numbers for about almost 6 years as an integral part of my work, i am became fascinated with the story behind the numbers. I have realized story behind numbers can confirm our general opinion or prejudged ideas, or it can completely contrast them.

Numbers are easily manipulated. It can be used to provide true story behind numbers or to complete fictional stories. So it is important to use numbers wisely and not to be paralyzed with analysis.

So what is with this blog?

I just wanted to talk anything and everything about numbers and story behind them. I will try to present anything related to numbers. Theories behind the numbers, tools and techniques, interesting stories related to numbers and interesting numbers analysis. Keep in touch.
